Those golden slow days...

***

I really shouldn't be here right now writing on the blog... my two hours (barely) a day when I can work could end from one moment to the other (read: Adele could wake up from her afternoon nap) and more than an hour has already gone with house duties and other boring stuff... and I have so many works in progress, mails to answer, jobs to finish, parcels to prepare... but if I don't post this now, I know I won't post it anymore, as until midnight we are still in January, and I think it should still be "allowed" to post about Christmassy wreaths, red berries and frozen leaves...

...as tomorrow will already be February (I do fancy you February!) and days will be getting longer and longer and buds on the trees will get fatter and fatter,  and layers of clothing will start to be shed (well.. we will see on that one..) and you start fantasizing about Spring. But in the meantime I'll enjoy this last day of this long January (that to be fair has been not as bad as I had expected it to be), a very gloomy and rainy day, a perfect day to stay cosy at home.. and I say farewell to this month with some pics from a walk in the Slaughters we had during our Christmas holidays. A walk I mainly remember for its "golden" light (that golden and special light from the very low sun in those amazing wintry days).

The walk was the usual one from Lower Slaughter to Upper Slaughter, to stretch our legs after a very good lunch in this lovely place in Bourton on the Water. A walk we know very well, a short one, perfect for those very short Wintry afternoons, when you can't really go that far before the sun decides to set down. So boots and hats, baby carrier and camera, and up we go.

Frost, fog, a soft golden embrace, stunning nature to breathe in, beauty to enjoy... these are places we very often visit and know by heart but they never EVER bore us.

Un abbraccio
